Edo College ICT Club Curriculum

The Edo College ICT Club offers a structured, hands-on learning program that introduces students to computer science, programming, and digital creativity. Our goal is to help students gain practical tech skills while having fun learning.

Overview

The curriculum is divided into weekly lessons designed to gradually build students’ understanding of key ICT concepts. Each week combines theory, hands-on projects, and teamwork to help students develop both technical and problem-solving skills.

Curriculum Outline

Week Topic Description / Activities
Week 1 Introduction to Programming Overview of programming, setting up Python, and writing the first “Hello World” program.
Week 2 Variables & Data Types Understanding numbers, strings, and how to store data effectively.
Week 3 Control Structures Learning about if statements, loops, and applying logic in programming.
Week 4 Functions Creating reusable blocks of code and understanding modular design.
Week 5 Lists & Dictionaries Working with data collections and creating simple data-driven projects.
Week 6 File Handling Reading and writing files in Python with small practical exercises.
Week 7 Revision & Mini Project Class revision and building a small student-led coding project.
Week 8 Final Project & Presentation Students complete and present their final coding projects in groups.
